Carolina Liar is a Swedish-American pop rock band whose transatlantic origins have contributed to a distinctive sound in modern alternative pop. The band formed when a collaboration with Swedish producer Tobias Karlsson led to the song "Coming to Terms," which attracted the attention of producer Max Martin, who signed the project. The band's name reflects the members' experiences with setbacks in their musical pursuits, as well as an anecdote involving frontman Chad Wolf and a producer who frequently called him a liar after hearing his stories.

Carolina Liar is known for the platinum-certified single "Show Me What I'm Looking For" and the gold-certified "I'm Not Over," both from the major-label debut album "Coming to Terms," produced by Max Martin and Tobias Karlsson. "I'm Not Over" appeared in the film "What Happens in Vegas," in an episode of "King of the Hill," and in the video game UEFA Euro 2008. After releasing "Coming to Terms" on Atlantic Records, the band self-released the follow-up album "Wild Blessed Freedom" through RED.

Members of Carolina Liar have contributed to the broader pop music industry. Peter Carlsson co-produced Ariana Grande's single "Love Me Harder," while Johan Carlsson co-wrote and co-produced her single "Dangerous Woman." Chad Wolf has collaborated with Martin Garrix and co-written songs with Max Martin and Shellback, highlighting the band's influence in pop and alternative music production.

Carolina Liar has performed live with artists including Gavin DeGraw, Rob Thomas, Kelly Clarkson, The Fray, OneRepublic, and Lindsey Stirling. The band also opened for Rob Thomas at New York City's Beacon Theatre and during his Cradlesong Tour.
