Carol Lee

Carol E. Lee is the managing editor for national security at NBC News, where she oversees the network's national security and foreign policy reporting teams. Lee's career in political journalism includes extensive White House reporting, beginning with her coverage of the presidential campaign and President Obama's transition in Chicago for Politico. She later joined The Wall Street Journal as White House correspondent, where she was responsible for coverage of politics, foreign affairs, and domestic policy issues. At the Journal, Lee also wrote a weekly column for the digital politics page, Capital Journal.

In prior roles, Lee covered the White House for both The Wall Street Journal and Politico, building expertise in executive branch operations and national security.
