Carley Fortune

Carley Fortune is a Canadian author known for her contributions to contemporary romance fiction. An award-winning journalist, Fortune worked as an editor at several Canadian publications, including The Globe and Mail, Chatelaine, and Toronto Life. She later oversaw the launch of Refinery29 Canada and led the team as its executive editor before transitioning from journalism to fiction writing. Fortune holds a Bachelor of Journalism from Toronto Metropolitan University.

Fortune’s move from editorial work to novel writing was motivated by burnout and a desire to reclaim her creativity. To address financial concerns after leaving her job, she developed a plan to complete her first manuscript by the end of the year, writing 388 words a day. She finished the manuscript for "Every Summer After" in four months.
