Campbell Brown

Campbell Brown is an Emmy Award-winning journalist, media executive, and entrepreneur whose career spans broadcast news, technology, and education advocacy. Brown began her career reporting globally for CNN and NBC News, serving as an anchor and correspondent. At NBC, she was co-anchor of "The Today Show – Weekend Edition," White House correspondent during President George W. Bush's first term, and main substitute anchor for NBC Nightly News. Brown received an Emmy Award for her coverage of Hurricane Katrina and reported on three presidential campaigns, as well as conflicts in Iraq, Israel, Gaza, and the West Bank.

At CNN, Brown hosted the program "Campbell Brown," which focused on political and policy issues, and moderated presidential primary debates. The program underwent several title changes, including "Campbell Brown: Election Center" and "Campbell Brown: No Bias, No Bull," before adopting her name as the title. Brown became known for challenging media norms and holding public figures accountable in broadcast journalism.

Following her tenure at CNN, Brown shifted her focus to education reform. She founded the Partnership for Educational Justice, a parent coalition advocating for public school improvements through legal action, and led the Parents' Transparency Project, a watchdog group investigating failures and inequality in public education. Brown co-founded The 74, a nonprofit news website dedicated to school-choice issues in the United States, named for the 74 million children under 18 in the country.

Brown joined Meta as head of Facebook's news partnership program, where she led initiatives to expand news content on the platform, including the launch of a dedicated News Tab and significant investments in publishing partnerships. After Meta, Brown continued to influence the media and technology sectors as a senior advisor.

Brown has raised $3 million in seed funding for Forum AI, a company assessing the performance of major artificial intelligence models on complex topics such as politics, foreign affairs, and mental health. Forum AI brings together experts from media, politics, and healthcare, including figures like Fareed Zakaria, Scott Jennings, Salena Zito, Kevin McCarthy, Larry Summers, Mount Sinai Health System, the Manhattan Institute, and the Atlantic Council. Brown's career reflects a commitment to accountability, transparency, and public trust at the intersection of journalism, technology, and civic engagement.
