Cameron Winklevoss

Cameron Winklevoss is a principal of Winklevoss Capital Management, a private investment firm that partners with early-stage companies to provide capital and strategic support for growth. The firm’s portfolio has included Hukkster, an online shopping tool for sale alerts; SumZero, an online community of investment professionals; and Bitcoin, the decentralized cryptocurrency that uses peer-to-peer technology for frictionless payments.

Winklevoss graduated from Harvard University with a degree in economics and received his MBA from the University of Oxford. While at Harvard, he and his twin brother, Tyler, along with classmate Divya Narendra, launched a college social networking site originally called Harvard Connection, later known as ConnectU. They invited Mark Zuckerberg to help expand the platform to other colleges; that project later became the subject of widespread attention surrounding the founding of Facebook.

An accomplished athlete, Winklevoss is an NCAA rowing champion and was a member of the 2008 U.S. Olympic rowing team.

Cameron and his brother Tyler are portrayed by Armie Hammer in the film "The Social Network" (2010), directed by David Fincher. The twins were also depicted on the animated series "The Simpsons" in the episode "The D’oh-cial Network." They are featured as the central figures in the 2019 book "Bitcoin Billionaires: A True Story of Genius, Betrayal, and Redemption."

Winklevoss has also been active in political and civic philanthropy and was named, alongside his brother, as a donor to the proposed White House State Ballroom expansion in 2025.
