Cameron Boozer

Cameron Boozer is a basketball forward recognized for his achievements at the high school, collegiate, and international levels. Standing 6-foot-9, Boozer became the youngest player to be named Gatorade National Player of the Year, earning the distinction twice before graduating from Christopher Columbus High School in Miami. During his time at Columbus, Boozer led his team to a 114-14 record, four Florida state championships, and the Chipotle National Championship. With his AAU team, Nightrydas Elite, he contributed to consecutive Nike EYBL Peach Jam championships at the 15U, 16U, and 17U levels.

On the international stage, Boozer won two gold medals with USA Basketball, earning MVP honors at the FIBA Americas U16 Championship and the FIBA U17 World Cup. He averaged 16.8 points and 9.8 rebounds at the U16 event and 20.1 points and 9.9 rebounds at the U17 World Cup, including a standout performance in the title game against Italy.

As a consensus five-star recruit, Boozer committed to Duke University alongside his twin brother, Cayden, a guard, choosing the Blue Devils over Miami, Florida, and Kentucky. In his freshman season at Duke, Boozer averaged 22.5 points, 10.2 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 1.4 steals per game, starting all 38 games. He tied for the national lead with 22 double-doubles and set Duke freshman records for rebounds and free throws made. Boozer became the first freshman or sophomore since Larry Bird to average at least 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assists in a season. His contributions helped Duke win 35 games, reach No. 1 in the AP Top 25 poll, secure the top overall seed for the NCAA Tournament, and advance to the Elite Eight.

Following his freshman campaign, Boozer received several honors, including AP National Player of the Year, ACC Player of the Year, ACC Rookie of the Year, and ACC Tournament MVP. He also swept the Karl Malone, Pete Newell, and Lute Olson awards, and became the first player to win the NABC Player of the Year, Big Man of the Year, and Freshman of the Year in the same season.

The Memphis Grizzlies selected Boozer with the No. 3 pick in the NBA Draft. He led college basketball with a 17.1 box plus-minus score in his season at Duke. Boozer is projected as an offensive hub at the professional level, with strengths in post scoring, perimeter shooting, and playmaking from the forward and center positions. His skill set and basketball IQ position him as a key prospect in the NBA, with the potential to anchor winning teams.
