Cal Raleigh

Cal Raleigh, a professional baseball catcher and designated hitter for the Seattle Mariners, made his entrance into Major League Baseball (MLB) on July 11, 2021. In a relatively short time, Raleigh has established a reputation as an outstanding player, making history as the first catcher in MLB to win the Home Run Derby in 2025. He is also recognized for his unique skill of hitting a home run from both sides of the plate in the same game, a feat he achieved at Fenway Park on May 15, 2023. His outstanding performance in the 2023 season saw him hit 30 home runs and accumulate 75 RBI in 145 games for Seattle.

Despite his relatively recent entry into the MLB, Raleigh's record-breaking performance has not gone unnoticed. In 2025, he broke the record for the most home runs in a season by a primary catcher and a switch-hitter. The same year saw Raleigh set the MLB records for most home runs by a catcher in a single season and most home runs by a switch-hitter in a single season. His efforts led him to the top of the MLB in home runs and RBIs in the American League in 2025. Raleigh's performance also led to his first All-Star selection in 2025.

Raleigh's dedication to the sport has been awarded multiple times, including the Gold Glove Award and the American League Platinum Glove Award in 2024. These awards further cemented his place as one of the most talented catchers in the league. Furthermore, Raleigh's skills extend beyond just his athletic abilities. He completed his degree in business entrepreneurship from FSU in December 2020 and has been actively involved in promotional activities, such as the "Buhner Buzz Cut" promotion with the Mariners in 2024.
