CHIAOZZA

CHIAOZZA is the Brooklyn-based artist duo of Adam Frezza and Terri Chiao, recognized for their explorations in sculpture, painting, installation, and design. Since establishing their collaborative practice, Frezza and Chiao have developed a visual language that highlights organic forms, rich color palettes, and the intersection of natural and imagined environments. Their multidisciplinary approach draws on Frezza’s background in fine art and Chiao’s expertise in architecture, resulting in works that blur the boundaries between art and design, two-dimensional and three-dimensional forms, and invite viewers to engage with their creative world.

CHIAOZZA’s work has been exhibited in solo and group shows at institutions including Wave Hill in the Bronx, Vox Populi in Philadelphia, and Long Island University in Brooklyn, as well as internationally. The duo has completed public art commissions, including large-scale installations for the Coachella Arts & Music Festival, Google’s Pier 57 campus, and Industry City in New York. Collaborations with brands such as IKEA, Hermès, and Areaware extend their artistic vision into commercial and functional design, while their set designs and objects bring their aesthetic into everyday contexts.

Frezza and Chiao have been named to Smack Mellon’s Hot Picks and Sight Unseen’s American Design Hot List, and have participated in residencies and fellowships in the United States and Europe. Their practice centers on the concept of play as both a collaborative process and a method of audience engagement, establishing them as contributors to contemporary art and design. Through public installations, exhibitions, and speaking engagements, CHIAOZZA demonstrates an ongoing commitment to creative experimentation and multidisciplinary practice in the art and design industry.
