Cécile Canqueteau-Landi is a gymnastics coach whose career spans three decades and two continents. A native of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, France, Canqueteau-Landi competed for France at the Atlanta Olympics. After retiring from competition, she initially pursued a career in physical therapy before transitioning to coaching. She began her coaching career at the French National Training Center, then moved to the United States with Laurent Landi and started coaching at Bart Conner Gymnastics Academy. The pair later relocated to Texas to coach at World Olympic Gymnastics Academy (WOGA).
At WOGA, Canqueteau-Landi developed elite gymnastics talent, coaching Olympic gold medalist Madison Kocian and world champion Alyssa Baumann. After the Rio Games, Simone Biles sought to return to gymnastics training, and Canqueteau-Landi joined the coaching staff at World Champions Centre, where she and Laurent Landi became personal coaches to Biles. The Landis guided Biles to multiple World titles and new elements named in her honor. Canqueteau-Landi coached Simone Biles, Jordan Chiles, and Maddie Kocian to 11 Olympic medals across the Rio, Tokyo, and Paris Olympics, and was named USA Gymnastics Coach of the Year for Women's Artistic Gymnastics.
Canqueteau-Landi has trained and mentored 13 USA Women's Senior National Team members, including Olympic and World team and individual champions Simone Biles and Madison Kocian, and World team champions Alyssa Baumann, Jordan Chiles, and Joscelyn Roberson. One third of the gymnasts in the Olympic Trials were coached by Canqueteau-Landi, with nearly half of the Olympic team, including alternates, under her guidance. Her coaching philosophy emphasizes athlete well-being and helping gymnasts reach their full potential.
After leading Team USA to success in Paris, Canqueteau-Landi joined the Georgia GymDogs, following Team USA's Gold Medal in the team finals and Simone Biles' three individual medals, including an all-around Gold. In two seasons, Canqueteau-Landi led Georgia back to the national stage, with the GymDogs making their first appearance in the National Semifinals in seven seasons. Under her leadership, six GymDogs earned nine NCAA All-America honors, four earned six WCGA Regular Season All-America citations, and 10 gymnasts were named to the All-SEC Team. Canqueteau-Landi has since been named the sole head coach of the Georgia Gymnastics program. A USA Gymnastics Hall of Fame inductee, she brings Olympic experience, championship credentials, and an athlete-centered approach to coaching at every level.
