Butch Harmon Biography
Butch Harmon is widely regarded as one of the greatest golf instructors in the world. Over the years, he has coached some of the game’s biggest stars, including Tiger Woods, Davis Love III, Justin Leonard, Greg Norman, Steve Elkington, and Mark Calcavecchia. His students have combined for 68 PGA TOUR victories, 66 international wins, and 10 major championships.
A former PGA TOUR player himself, Harmon won the 1971 B.C. Open. In 1995, he was named Sports Illustrated’s Teacher of the Year. He has also served as the lead golf analyst for British Sky Broadcasting, covering premier events such as the U.S. Open, PGA Championship, and TOUR Championship.
Golf excellence runs in the family. His father, Claude Harmon, was a renowned club professional and the 1948 Masters Champion. Butch has two sons, Michael and Claude. In addition to operating his Golf School, he enjoys traveling the country to participate in corporate and charity outings.
