Building 429

Building 429 is an American Christian rock band recognized for its contemporary Christian music and pop-rock sound. The band's name references Ephesians 4:29, reflecting a commitment to positive messaging and uplifting lyrics. Building 429 was formed when bassist Scotty Beshears and guitarist and vocalist Jason Roy met in North Carolina, later adding a drummer to complete the lineup. The group is known for blending modern rock with Christian-themed lyrics and delivering energetic live performances.

In its early years, Building 429 maintained a rigorous touring schedule, performing more than 100 shows and selling thousands of copies of its self-titled debut CD. The band's breakthrough arrived with the release of the "Glory Defined" EP. The single "Glory Defined" reached No. 1 on multiple Christian AC and CHR charts, holding the top spot on Christian Radio Weekly's AC chart for 10 consecutive weeks. The national debut full-length album, "Space in Between Us," followed, and "Glory Defined" was named BMI's Christian Song of the Year. Building 429 was also recognized as the Gospel Music Association's New Artist of the Year and received nominations for Rock/Contemporary Album of the Year and Song of the Year.

The band continued its momentum with studio albums such as "Rise," featuring singles including "Searching For a Savior," "Fearless," and "I Belong to You." Building 429 released additional singles like "Where I Belong," which reached No. 1 on the Billboard NCA charts, was named Billboard Magazine Christian Song of the Year, and achieved gold record certification. The band earned a Grammy nomination for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album for "We Won't Be Shaken," which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Christian Albums chart and produced a No. 1 title track at radio.

Building 429 has received multiple Billboard Music Song of the Year Awards for "We Won't Be Shaken" and "Where I Belong," two BMI Song of the Year Awards, a K-LOVE Fan Award nomination for Group of the Year, and a GMA Dove Award for Best New Artist. Subsequent albums include "Unashamed" and "Live the Journey," reinforcing the band's presence in the Christian rock and contemporary Christian music scene. Building 429 has toured with artists such as TobyMac, Family Force 5, Casting Crowns, and Thousand Foot Krutch.

Lead vocalist and primary songwriter Jason Roy draws on personal experiences, including family challenges and spiritual exploration, to create music that addresses themes of hope and redemption.
