Bryson Tiller

Bryson Tiller is a Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter and rapper who helped redefine contemporary R&B with his signature “trap soul” sound — a moody fusion of hip-hop grit and melodic vulnerability.

Hailing from Louisville, Kentucky, Tiller first gained traction in 2014 with a series of breakout SoundCloud releases, including “Don’t,” “Break Bread,” “Let ’Em Know” and “Sorry Not Sorry.” The sparse, hypnotic ballad “Don’t” became a viral hit and received an official release in May 2015, quickly establishing him as one of R&B’s most promising new voices.

Amid speculation that he might join Drake’s OVO Sound imprint, Tiller instead signed with RCA Records. His debut album, T R A P S O U L, was released in October 2015 to critical and commercial success, solidifying the “trap soul” movement and earning him a devoted global fanbase. In 2016, he was honored with the key to his hometown of Louisville.

Tiller’s sophomore album, True to Self, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in May 2017. That same year, he won two BET Awards — Best New Artist and Best Male R&B/Pop Artist — and reached an even wider audience with his appearance alongside Rihanna on DJ Khaled’s chart-topping hit “Wild Thoughts.”

In 2020, his single “Could’ve Been” earned a Grammy nomination for Best R&B Performance at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards. Continuing to evolve his sound while staying true to his introspective roots, Bryson Tiller remains one of modern R&B’s most influential and distinctive artists.
