Brooke Ligertwood

Brooke Ligertwood, a respected presence in the music industry, started her career with her debut album "What to Do with Daylight" in 2003, which went seven times platinum in New Zealand. Her subsequent albums, "Albertine" (2006) and "Flags" (2010), also debuted at No. 1 on the RMNZ chart. Ligertwood's song "Albertine" was indicative of her engagement in humanitarian issues, inspired by a young genocide victim she met in Rwanda. After the release of her first album, she toured with acclaimed artists such as John Mayer and David Bowie. Ligertwood's discography also includes studio albums like "Brutal Romantic" (2014) and live albums like "Seven" (2022).

Ligertwood's contribution to Hillsong Worship from 2016 to 2023 was significant. She performed on popular songs like "Who You Say I Am," "King of Kings" and "What a Beautiful Name." The latter song, which Ligertwood co-wrote, won the Grammy Award for best contemporary Christian music performance in 2018. She has also received recognition at the GMA Dove Awards, Vodafone Pacific Music Awards, APRA Awards (New Zealand) and New Zealand Music Awards. Notably, Ligertwood won the best contemporary Christian music performance/song award at the 2018 Grammy Awards for "What a Beautiful Name."

In recent years, Ligertwood released her solo worship albums "Seven" (2022) and "Eight" (2023) under Capitol CMG, both of which were nominated for worship album of the year at the GMA Dove Awards in 2022 and 2024, respectively. She also released "Siete," an EP consisting of five songs from "Seven" in Spanish. Ligertwood showcased her talent further by performing with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra at Spark Arena in Auckland and releasing "Infinity," a live album with songs from "Eight." Her connection with her audience is evidenced by her live version of "Shadowfeet" on her Brooke Fraser YouTube channel, recorded at Spark Arena with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra.
