Brock Nelson

Brock Nelson's professional journey in the National Hockey League (NHL) began with the New York Islanders, who selected him as the 30th overall in the first round of the 2010 NHL entry draft. His performance on ice led to a six-year contract with the Islanders in 2019. Nelson's leadership skills were recognized in 2021 when he was named alternate captain of the Islanders. His career took a turn in 2025 when he was traded to the Colorado Avalanche, where he signed a 3-year contract extension.

On the ice, Nelson's achievements are numerous and noteworthy. He scored his 600th career point in a 2025 game against the Montreal Canadiens and recorded his first hat-trick with the Avalanche in January 2026. Nelson's skills in the game also earned him a place in the NHL All-Star Game in 2023. His performance in the All-Star Game as well as his consistent contribution to his teams, have established Nelson as a prominent figure in NHL.

Nelson's international career is equally impressive. He represented the United States in the 2026 Winter Olympics and the 2015 World Championships, and was a key contributor to the United States' bronze medal win at the 2011 World Junior Championships. Nelson was also named an alternate captain for Team USA at the 2017 IIHF World Championship.
