Brian Westbrook

Brian Westbrook is a former National Football League (NFL) running back best known for his nine-year career with the Philadelphia Eagles, where he became one of the most versatile and productive players in franchise history.

Born in Fort Washington, Maryland, Westbrook attended DeMatha Catholic High School before playing college football at Villanova University. Despite concerns about his size, he became one of the most dynamic players in college football history. He finished his Villanova career with more than 9,500 all-purpose yards and was a two-time Walter Payton Award winner as the top offensive player in Division I-AA/FCS football.

The Philadelphia Eagles selected Westbrook in the third round of the 2002 NFL Draft. Over the next nine seasons, he developed into an elite dual-threat running back, excelling as both a runner and receiver. He was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2004 and 2007–2009 and earned First-Team All-Pro honors in 2007. That season, he recorded 2,104 yards from scrimmage and scored 12 touchdowns, helping establish him as one of the NFL's most dangerous offensive weapons.

Westbrook finished his NFL career with 6,335 rushing yards, 3,941 receiving yards and 72 total touchdowns. He also made one of the most memorable plays in Eagles history in 2003, returning a punt 84 yards for a game-winning touchdown against the New York Giants. The play became known as the "Miracle at the Meadowlands."

After retiring from football, Westbrook remained active in business, broadcasting and philanthropy. He and his wife, Brittany, founded the Brian Westbrook Foundation, which supports youth development and provides educational and community opportunities for children and families. He has also worked as a football analyst and remained involved with Villanova and the Philadelphia community.
