Breckin Meyer is an American actor, writer, producer, and musician whose career spans more than three decades across film, television, and animation. Meyer began acting at age 11, appearing in numerous commercials and television shows, before gaining recognition with main roles on the ABC sitcom "The Jackie Thomas Show" and the NBC sitcom "The Home Court," along with supporting roles in the films "Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare," "Clueless," and "The Craft." His breakthrough screen role came in the teen comedy "Clueless," where he played a skateboarding student at a wealthy high school.
Meyer later starred as a college student in the comedy "Road Trip." He followed this with starring roles in "Rat Race," "Kate & Leopold," and "Pinocchio," and received further recognition for his role as Jon Arbuckle in "Garfield: The Movie" and "Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties." Additional film credits include "Herbie: Fully Loaded," "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past," "Changeland," and "Unpregnant."
On television, Meyer held lead roles as Tom Wagner on the ABC sitcom "Married to the Kellys" and Jared Franklin on the TNT legal comedy-drama series "Franklin & Bash," as well as a main role on the ABC series "The Fix." He also created the TBS sitcom "Men at Work" and played Trey Kirkman in the ABC/Netflix political drama series "Designated Survivor." Meyer starred opposite Emily Kinney and Giselle Eisenberg in the independent dark comedy "The Enormity of Life."
Meyer is known for his work on the Adult Swim animated sketch series "Robot Chicken," which has earned him two Annie Awards and five Primetime Emmy Award nominations. He regularly contributes writing and voice work to "Robot Chicken" and was nominated for an Emmy for his writing on the "Robot Chicken: Star Wars" specials. Meyer also voiced Joseph Gribble on the Fox animated sitcom "King of the Hill."
In addition to his acting and voice work, Meyer is a musician, playing drums in the punk band The Street Walkin' Cheetahs and collaborating with artists including The Nightwatchman, Ben Harper, Cypress Hill, Slash, and Perry Farrell. He served as the drummer for Tom Morello's backing band, The Freedom Fighter Orchestra, and toured with the Nightwatchman's Justice Tour. Meyer's career encompasses comedy, drama, animation, screenwriting, and music, reflecting a broad range of skills in the entertainment industry.
