Bradley Whitford

Bradley Whitford is an actor known for his extensive work in theater, film, and television. He studied theater and English literature at Wesleyan University and earned a master's degree in theater from Juilliard Theater Center. Whitford's first professional performance was in the off-Broadway production of "Curse of the Starving Class" with Kathy Bates. He made his Broadway debut in a production of "A Few Good Men," written by Aaron Sorkin, a collaboration that would become significant in his career.

Whitford starred as Josh Lyman, White House deputy chief of staff, in NBC's political drama "The West Wing." He was a cast member for the show's entire seven-season run and received three consecutive Primetime Emmy Award nominations, winning once, as well as three consecutive Golden Globe Award nominations. Whitford also contributed as a writer for two episodes of the series: "Faith Based Initiative" and "Internal Displacement."

Demonstrating versatility across genres, Whitford played Dean Armitage in the horror film "Get Out" and Arthur Parsons in the political thriller "The Post." Both films received recognition from the Academy Awards, Golden Globes, Broadcast Film Critics' Choice Awards, and SAG Awards, and achieved commercial success. He also appeared in the Disney feature film "Saving Mr. Banks" alongside Emma Thompson, Tom Hanks, Colin Farrell, Paul Giamatti, and Jason Schwartzman.

Whitford portrayed Commander Joseph Lawrence in Hulu's dystopian drama "The Handmaid's Tale," earning a Primetime Emmy Award for his performance. He also won a Primetime Emmy Award for his guest role as Marcy in "Transparent" and received an additional nomination for portraying Magnus Hirschfeld in the same series. Whitford is recognized as the first person to win Emmy Awards in both guest comedy and drama categories. He received another nomination in the Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series for his performance in "The Diplomat."
