Boris Ilyevsky

Boris Ilyevsky is a New York-based executive specializing in derivatives, financial markets, and digital assets. His career spans more than two decades, with a focus on exchange innovation, market structure, and the evolution of digital asset trading. Ilyevsky joined International Securities Exchange in its early years, holding positions in marketing, technology, and market operations before being named managing director of the options exchange. In this role, he oversaw the growth and development of what became the world's largest equity options market.

During his 17-year tenure at International Securities Exchange, Ilyevsky led initiatives in technology, operations, and business development, including the launch of new market centers and the development of the ETF Ventures business. The exchange was later acquired by Nasdaq. Following this, Ilyevsky joined IEX Group to lead market development, where he evaluated opportunities for expanding into options and contributed to the advancement of fair market practices for investors and brokers.

Ilyevsky later served as chief product and strategy officer at FairX, which was acquired by Coinbase. He is currently head of Coinbase Derivatives Exchange, where he oversees digital asset derivatives trading and market structure. At FIA Expo, as head of U.S. derivatives, Ilyevsky participated in industry discussions on the evolving digital asset trading landscape and growth drivers. He has also appeared on the "Boxes and Lines" podcast, discussing futures trading for retail investors, crypto futures, regulation, and fintech innovation.

Ilyevsky's areas of expertise include leadership, P&L management, operations, strategy, team building, equity and derivatives market structure, product management, regulatory issues, and relationship management. He serves on the board of Nodal Exchange Holdings. He holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in economics and politics from New York University.
