Booger McFarland

Anthony McFarland is a two-time Super Bowl champion and football analyst known for his expertise in sports broadcasting. A First-Team All-America and All-SEC defensive tackle at Louisiana State University, McFarland played for the Tigers and graduated with a degree in business management. During his collegiate career, he contributed to multiple bowl victories, earned Peach Bowl SEC Defensive MVP honors, and served as defensive co-captain his senior year.

Selected as the No. 15 overall pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFL Draft, McFarland played nine NFL seasons with the Buccaneers and Indianapolis Colts. He was part of two Super Bowl-winning teams—Super Bowl XXXVII with Tampa Bay and Super Bowl XLI with Indianapolis. Over his career, McFarland played 109 games, recording 188 tackles and 22.5 sacks. His playing career ended due to a knee injury sustained during training camp.

After retiring from professional football, McFarland transitioned to sports media, beginning as a co-host on a sports radio show in Tampa. He joined ESPN as one of SEC Network's first commentators, focusing on Southeastern Conference football. McFarland later became a studio analyst for ESPN on ABC college football coverage, working alongside Kevin Negandhi and Mack Brown.

McFarland joined "Monday Night Football" as the series' first on-field analyst and was later elevated to the booth as the solo analyst with Joe Tessitore for the 50th season of "Monday Night Football." With this role, McFarland became the first full-time African American booth analyst on the program since 1985. He has also held studio roles for college football Saturdays on ABC, appeared on ESPN+'s "NFL PrimeTime" with Chris Berman, and served as an analyst on the "Monday Night Countdown" pregame show.

McFarland regularly appears on "SportsCenter," "Get Up," "NFL Live," and ESPN Radio. He has contributed to ESPN's coverage of the NFL Draft, Super Bowl week, and the College Football Playoff National Championship. McFarland also served as LSU's honorary captain when the Tigers won the College Football Playoff National Championship at the Superdome in New Orleans. His experience as both a championship-winning player and analyst informs his football coverage across television, radio, and digital platforms.
