Bonnie Raitt is a singer, songwriter, and guitarist recognized for her blend of blues, R&B, rock, and pop, which has shaped a career spanning more than five decades. Early in her career, Raitt performed alongside blues musicians such as Sippie Wallace and Arthur Crudup, as well as folk rock artists including Jackson Browne and Little Feat. Her early albums showcased a mix of original songs and covers from blues and singer-songwriter contemporaries like John Prine and Randy Newman. Raitt is noted for her resonant voice and slide guitar technique, which have influenced many musicians and contributed to the appreciation of blues music.

Raitt achieved significant commercial success with the Grammy Award-winning album "Nick of Time," which included Album of the Year. The follow-up album, "Luck of the Draw," produced hits such as "Something to Talk About" and "I Can't Make You Love Me," further establishing her in the American roots rock genre. "Nick of Time" was later added to the National Recording Registry by the Library of Congress.
