Bob Smiley

Bob Smiley is a recognized figure in Christian comedy, known for his high-energy, family-friendly humor delivered to audiences nationwide. Smiley began his career as a college student, winning a stand-up competition at his Student Union Building. This early success led to opportunities in the comedy industry, including joining a Christian singer's tour after being recommended by a college classmate.

Smiley developed his comedic style as the MC for bands such as Newsboys, Third Day, and Mercy Me. His performances for youth groups and church events contributed to his signature rapid-fire delivery. Smiley has toured with artists including Tim Hawkins, Peter Furler of Newsboys, and Matthew West, and has performed at Convocation, North America's largest weekly gathering of Christian students. His extensive touring experience has made him a sought-after entertainer for churches, conferences, fundraisers, and festivals.

With more than 27 years of experience, Smiley has appeared on stages ranging from theaters and churches to festivals. He has released five comedy specials, including three on Dry Bar Comedy. His Dry Bar Comedy specials, such as "Bob Smiley: Up for Anything" and "Bob Smiley: You're Just Hungry," feature clean stand-up focused on family and everyday life. Smiley also voiced Lowell the Snowman in the stop-motion Christmas movie "Steal the Naughty List."

In addition to his stage and screen work, Smiley has contributed to Focus on the Family, writing four books in the series "The Adventures of Average Boy." The "Adventures of Average Boy" humor column appears monthly in Focus on the Family's Clubhouse magazine, and the "Official Average Boy Podcast," co-hosted with Jesse Florea, provides faith-based entertainment for children and families.
