Blayne Alexander

Blayne Alexander is an American television journalist and correspondent for "Dateline NBC," the longest-running series in NBC primetime history. A graduate of Duke University, Alexander began her career as a reporter and anchor at WRDW-TV in Augusta, Georgia, before working for six years at Atlanta's WXIA-TV (11Alive News). She received the Atlanta Press Club's Rising Star Award, as well as recognition from the Atlanta and National Associations of Black Journalists and the Alliance for Women in Media.

Alexander joined NBC in a Washington-based role, serving as a correspondent for NBC News Channel and covering Capitol Hill and the Trump administration for NBC affiliate stations nationwide. She later became an Atlanta-based correspondent for NBC News, reporting across major platforms including "NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt," the "Today" show, MSNBC, and NBCNews.com. Her reporting has covered significant events such as the COVID-19 pandemic, elections in Georgia, the passing of Congressman John Lewis, and the national conversation on racial injustice. She also led NBC's coverage of the Georgia criminal indictment of former President Trump, conducting several exclusive interviews.

Alexander's assignments have taken her internationally, with reporting from the White House, Wimbledon, Singapore, Melbourne, and the Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. A four-time Emmy Award nominee, she is known for her in-depth coverage and ability to address complex topics in broadcast journalism and investigative reporting.

As a "Dateline NBC" correspondent, Alexander joined the program's roster alongside anchor Lester Holt and correspondents Andrea Canning, Josh Mankiewicz, Keith Morrison, and Dennis Murphy. "Dateline" is recognized as the most-watched newsmagazine and true-crime franchise on television. In addition to her on-screen work, Alexander has participated in public engagement and mentorship, including delivering the commencement address at Agnes Scott College.
