Ben Ginsberg

Ben Ginsberg is an election law attorney in the United States, recognized for his extensive experience in political law and election compliance. Ginsberg has represented a range of clients, including political parties, campaigns, candidates, members of Congress and state legislatures, governors, corporations, trade associations, PACs, vendors, donors, and individuals. Before practicing law, Ginsberg worked as a newspaper reporter at Boston Globe, Philadelphia Evening Bulletin, Berkshire Eagle, and Riverside Press-Enterprise.

Ginsberg served as counsel to the Republican National Committee, National Republican Senatorial Committee, and National Republican Congressional Committee. He acted as national counsel to the Bush-Cheney presidential campaigns and played a central role in the Florida recount. He also served as national counsel to the Romney for President campaign, representing four of the last six Republican presidential nominees. His work has covered election law, voting rights, campaign finance, recounts, government investigations, election administration, and redistricting.

President Barack Obama appointed Ginsberg and Robert Bauer to co-chair the Presidential Commission on Election Administration, which produced the report "The American Voting Experience: Report and Recommendations of the Presidential Commission on Election Administration." Ginsberg later became an outspoken critic of claims of widespread voter fraud and testified before the House January 6 committee regarding the integrity of the 2020 election.

Ginsberg co-founded the Election Official Legal Defense Network, providing pro bono legal services to election officials. He serves as co-chair of the Pillars of the Community project and is the Volker Distinguished Visiting Fellow at Stanford's Hoover Institution. His academic roles include Lecturer in Law at Stanford Law School, adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law Center, and Fellow at the Harvard Institute of Politics. As a CNN contributor, Ginsberg appears regularly as a commentator on politics and election law, and has authored numerous op-eds on election integrity and administration.
