Beau Willimon

Beau Willimon is a playwright, screenwriter, and producer best known for creating the Netflix political drama "House of Cards," the series that helped usher in the streaming era of prestige television. A graduate of Columbia University and the Columbia University School of the Arts, Willimon first gained attention with his play "Farragut North," a behind-the-scenes look at a presidential primary campaign inspired by his own experience working on political campaigns, including for Howard Dean. The play was later adapted into the feature film "The Ides of March," directed by and starring George Clooney.

With "House of Cards," Willimon brought a sharp, insider’s understanding of political ambition and power to the screen. The series, starring Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright, became one of Netflix’s earliest breakout hits and earned multiple Emmy and Golden Globe nominations.
