
Beatty Cohan, MSW, LCSW, AASECT, is a psychotherapist and sex therapist with extensive clinical experience in mental health, relationship counseling, and sexual health. Cohan earned a master's degree in clinical social work from McGill University in Montreal and completed post-graduate specialization in marriage and family therapy and sexual dysfunction at the Montreal Jewish General Hospital Institute of Family Psychiatry. Her clinical practice includes individuals and couples across a wide range of ages, life stages, sexual orientations, and religious backgrounds.
Cohan has worked with thousands of clients addressing issues such as clinical depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, substance abuse, sexual abuse, relationship problems, domestic violence, extramarital affairs, and sexual health concerns. She is an advocate for early intervention and primary prevention, particularly in educational settings. Cohan is the author of "For Better, For Worse, Forever: Discover the Path to Lasting Love," which presents a 10-step formula for evaluating compatibility in relationships. Following the publication of her book, she was appointed to Florida's Commission on Marriage and Family Support Initiatives, where she worked to implement relationship education programs in schools and colleges.
Cohan has appeared on more than 1,000 television and radio programs, including "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart." She is a frequent expert guest on FOX, CBS, ARISE, EXTRA, Entertainment Tonight, Geraldo, and other national and local media outlets. Cohan has hosted "Ask Beatty" call-in counseling radio talk shows, beginning with the ABC affiliate WPRO in Providence, and has had regular segments on ABC affiliates WLNE in Providence and WFTS in Tampa. She currently hosts the weekly "ASK BEATTY SHOW" on Progressive Radio Network and serves as an advice columnist for Dan's Papers in the Hamptons and Palm Beach. Cohan is also a columnist for Huffington Post, 3 Tomatoes, and FOX Health. Her work continues to contribute to the fields of psychotherapy, sex therapy, and relationship education.
