Barbara Desoer

Barbara Desoer is a distinguished leader in the banking and financial services industry, best known for her tenure as Chief Executive Officer of Citibank, N.A., the principal banking entity of Citigroup, of which she is now Chair. As CEO, she managed Citibank's global operations, including its extensive network of retail branches, institutional banking, and wealth management services. Desoer's strategic insights and operational expertise played a pivotal role in strengthening the bank’s position in the global market.

Before joining Citigroup, Desoer had a long and successful career at Bank of America, where she held numerous senior leadership roles. She served as President of Bank of America Home Loans, overseeing the integration of Countrywide Financial and managing the mortgage business during a critical period following the 2008 financial crisis.

Desoer earned her MBA from the University of California, Berkeley, and a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Mount Holyoke College.
