Barbara Dehn

Barbara Dehn, RN, MS, NP, FAANP, NCMP, is a practicing women's health nurse practitioner, author, and health expert. Dehn holds a master's degree from the University of California, San Francisco, and a Bachelor of Science from Boston College. She is certified by the Menopause Society and is a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Her clinical experience spans healthcare specialties including adolescence, menopause, women's sexual health, and the integration of mindfulness in health care. Dehn began her nursing career in pediatric intensive care at Stanford, where she was part of the team caring for the first children to receive heart transplants, shaping her focus on advancing patient care for women.

Dehn appears on CBS, ABC, CNN, and Good Morning America Now, and is featured as Nurse Barb on NBC's "California Live," where she provides health education to a broad audience. She has also been featured on the Today Show, sharing health and wellness information on topics such as heart health, gut health, dental care, and vision care. Dehn is a guest lecturer in the Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner program at Stanford University, known for translating complex medical information into accessible advice in both clinical and media settings.

Dehn founded Blue Orchid Press, a women's health publishing company, which has distributed more than 7 million guides in English, Spanish, and Mandarin through licensing partners. She is the author of "The Hot Guide to a Cool Sexy Menopause," "Nurse Barb's Guide to Breastfeeding," and "Nurse Barb's Guide to Pregnancy." As a national speaker at medical conferences, Dehn has led full-day sessions dedicated to women's health.

Dehn has contributed to the development of telehealth and consults for the pharmaceutical, medical, and biotechnology industries. She has served as vice president of women's health at Peppy Health, a digital health platform offering expert-led, personalized care through employer benefits programs. Dehn is a founding member of the 100 Women Charitable Foundation in Silicon Valley and serves on the board of FAME, the Foundation for African Medicine and Education in Karatu, Tanzania. Through her clinical practice, media work, publishing, and advocacy, Dehn promotes accessible, evidence-based health education for women throughout all stages of life.
