BTS

BTS, also known as Bangtan Sonyeondan or "Beyond the Scene," is a globally renowned South Korean music group that has redefined the landscape of K-pop and pop music worldwide. Formed by Big Hit Entertainment (now HYBE Corporation), the seven-member group—comprising RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook—debuted in 2013. Initially rooted in hip-hop, BTS quickly distinguished themselves through deeply personal lyrics, high-energy choreography, and strong social messages about youth struggles, mental health, and self-empowerment.

Their rise to international fame was gradual but groundbreaking. BTS gained a massive following with their "Love Yourself" trilogy, which addressed self-love and societal pressures, culminating in sold-out world tours and critical acclaim. Albums like Wings, Map of the Soul: Persona, and BE topped charts globally, with hits such as "Boy With Luv," "Dynamite," and "Butter" breaking records across platforms. "Dynamite," in particular, became their first all-English single and topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart, solidifying their position as global superstars.

In addition to their musical success, BTS has become cultural icons. They were the first K-pop group to speak at the United Nations, championing youth empowerment and mental health through their "Love Myself" campaign in partnership with UNICEF. They have graced the cover of TIME magazine, been named TIME’s Entertainer of the Year, and consistently made Forbes' lists for influential global celebrities. Their influence also extends into fashion and philanthropy, collaborating with luxury brands like Louis Vuitton and donating to numerous social causes.

Despite their fame, BTS has remained closely connected to their fans—known as ARMY—through consistent online interaction, personal video diaries, and candid documentaries. Each member has also pursued individual creative projects during group breaks, including solo music, acting, and producing. In 2022, BTS announced a temporary focus on solo endeavors while also fulfilling mandatory military service, with plans to reconvene as a group after completing their duties. BTS is planning an album and world tour for 2026.
