Avik Roy

Avik Roy is an American journalist and policy advisor known for his work in health care and economic policy. Roy was educated at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he studied molecular biology, and Yale University School of Medicine. He began his professional career as an analyst and portfolio manager at Bain Capital, J.P. Morgan, and other firms, investing in biotechnology and health care companies. This background in both medicine and finance informs Roy's approach to public policy analysis.

Roy launched "The Apothecary," a personal blog focused on health care policy and the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
