Arthur Fery

Arthur Fery is a French-born British professional tennis player known for his achievements on the ATP Tour and his connection to Wimbledon. Born in France and raised in Wimbledon, London, after his family relocated to the United Kingdom, Fery began playing tennis at age five. His mother, Olivia Féry, is a former professional tennis player who competed in the main draw of the women's doubles at the French Open. Fery trained under Alison Taylor at Westside Tennis Club until age 12, then continued his development with Craig Veal at Sutton Tennis Academy.

Fery competed in ITF junior events, reaching the semifinals of the Wimbledon Championships Boys' doubles and the Australian Open Boys' doubles, and achieved a career-high junior world ranking of No. 12. He attended Stanford University on a tennis scholarship, studying science, technology, and society, and played in the Pac-12 Conference. During his collegiate career, Fery was the Pac-12 champion, a two-time ITA All-American, Pac-12 Singles Player of the Year, and became the first Stanford player since Bob Bryan to be ranked No. 1 in singles by the NCAA. He trained under Bob and Mike Bryan while at Stanford.

After college, Fery transitioned to the professional tennis circuit, securing his first ATP Challenger Tour victory at the Nottingham Open and winning his maiden ATP Challenger title in Barranquilla. He debuted for the Great Britain Davis Cup team with a win against Olaf Pieczkowski and earned his first Grand Slam main draw victory at Wimbledon, defeating 20th seed Alexei Popyrin. Fery was featured in the tennis documentary series "Beyond the Baseline."

Fery reached the semifinals of the Wimbledon Championships as a wild card, defeating Damir Dzumhur, Otto Virtanen, Zizou Bergs, Grigor Dimitrov, and Flavio Cobolli. He became the fifth British man to reach the Wimbledon singles semifinals in the Open Era and only the second wild card to do so. Fery was also the first British men's wild card to reach the quarterfinals at any Major in the Open Era. He finished the tournament with a new career-high ranking and as British No. 1.

Fery holds a career-high ATP singles ranking of world No. 36 and a doubles ranking of No. 201. He resides in Wimbledon, allowing him to commute home after matches at the All England Club. Fery's career highlights his grass-court skills, collegiate tennis background, and ongoing presence in British tennis.
