Bethea started in Super Bowl XLI, making four combined tackles as the Colts defeated the Chicago Bears 29–17, securing a championship ring in his first NFL season.
Bethea was selected to three Pro Bowls and started 200 of the 209 games he played, including all 16 games for the New York Giants at age 35, when he registered 110 tackles.
