Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua OBE is a British heavyweight boxer recognized for his achievements in both amateur and professional boxing. As an amateur, Joshua represented England at the World Championships, earning the super-heavyweight silver medal, and later won gold for Great Britain at the Olympics. He is the second British boxer, after James DeGale, to secure both an Olympic gold medal and a world title from a major professional sanctioning body, and the first British heavyweight to do so. Joshua was named Prospect of the Year by The Ring magazine following his transition to professional boxing.

Joshua captured his first world title, the IBF belt, by defeating Charles Martin. A defining moment in his career occurred at Wembley Stadium, where he stopped Wladimir Klitschko in the 11th round, unifying the WBA and IBF titles. The bout was named Fight of the Year by The Ring and the Boxing Writers Association of America. Joshua later added the WBO belt by outpointing Joseph Parker and held the unified heavyweight championship twice.

Joshua's career has included notable victories over opponents such as Wladimir Klitschko, Joseph Parker, Kubrat Pulev, Robert Helenius, and former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou. After a loss to Andy Ruiz Jr., Joshua regained his titles in a rematch in Saudi Arabia. He has also faced Oleksandr Usyk in back-to-back contests and has worked with trainer Ben Davison to refine his boxing style. Joshua defeated Jake Paul by sixth-round knockout in a professional heavyweight bout streamed on Netflix.

Outside the ring, Joshua has been recognized with honors including Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) and Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for his contributions to sport. He has developed a business portfolio that includes athlete management, marketing, merchandise, property, investment, and philanthropy.
