Anthony Anderson Biography
Anthony Anderson is an actor, producer, comedian, writer, and game show host. He is best known for his leading role as Andre "Dre" Johnson on the comedy series "Black-ish" from 2014 to 2022, of which he was also the executive producer. His work on "Black-ish" earned him numerous nominations, including 11 Primetime Emmy Award nominations and three Golden Globe Award nominations. The success of "Black-ish" led to the creation of spin-offs "Grown-ish" and "Mixed-ish," where Anderson also served as executive producer. He guest-starred as Dre in episodes of both spin-offs.
Anderson has hosted the game shows "To Tell the Truth" and "We Are Family." He hosted the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards in 2024. He also leads "Eating America with Anthony Anderson" on the Food Network and was a frequent judge on "Iron Chef America."
Anderson's films include "The Departed" for which he and the ensemble cast received the Central Ohio Film Critics Association Best Ensemble and the Satellite Award for Best Ensemble in a Motion Picture.
His voice acting includes his reprisal of the character Ray Ray in an episode of the animated series "The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder" in 2023.
