Annastiina Hintsa

Annastiina Hintsa is the chief executive officer of Hintsa Performance, an evidence-based coaching company specializing in sustainable high performance for athletes and business professionals. Hintsa leads the coaching firm founded by her late father, Dr. Aki Hintsa, whose methods have been applied in demanding business and sports environments. The holistic Hintsa coaching method has been adopted by Fortune 500 executives and athletes, including Formula One champions Fernando Alonso and Mika Häkkinen. Under Hintsa's leadership, Hintsa Performance has expanded its services to work with more than half of Formula One drivers and numerous Fortune 500 CEOs, focusing on optimizing and maintaining high performance.

Before joining Hintsa Performance, Hintsa worked in management consulting and economic development, serving as an engagement manager at McKinsey & Company with a focus on strategy, organizational transformation, and the public and social sectors. She also spent several years in Latin America and Africa, collaborating with female micro-entrepreneurs. Following a personal experience with burnout, Hintsa recognized that well-being is foundational to sustainable high performance. Her transformation included participating in ultra-distance running events, such as the 4Deserts 1,000km series, where she became the first Finnish person to complete the challenge.

Hintsa joined Hintsa Performance as head of services, later serving as chief operating officer and entrepreneur before becoming CEO. She also holds a seat on the board of directors at Nordic Semiconductor ASA. Hintsa's approach to coaching begins with identifying a person's core motivation for change and integrates science-based strategies across physical activity, nutrition, sleep and recovery, biomechanics, mental energy, and general health. Her clients include Formula One drivers, female entrepreneurs in rural Guatemala, top executives, and politicians.

Hintsa holds two master's degrees in economics and international management and is a doctoral student in the Aalto University Department of Economics. She is a public speaker at platforms such as TEDx and the World Economic Forum. In her TEDx talk, "Optimising for a Better Life," she discusses how optimizing well-being leads to improved performance. Hintsa also hosted a Hintsa Performance session at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos. Her interests include the future of work in the context of the fourth industrial revolution, the role of women and millennials in shaping workplace trends, and the business case for well-being. Hintsa's personal journey from burnout to high performance, combined with her academic background and experience in human performance coaching, positions her as a recognized voice in the field of sustainable human performance.
