Annamaria Lusardi

Annamaria Lusardi is an economist recognized for her research on financial literacy and its impact on individual and societal decision-making. As the Marinello Professor of Economics at Stanford Graduate School of Business, Lusardi has contributed to the global understanding of how limited financial knowledge can hinder economic progress through studies and publications in the field of economics and personal finance.

Lusardi has directed the Program on Financial Inclusion at Stanford's Global Poverty & Equity Initiative and previously served as the Denit Trust Chair of Financial Literacy at George Washington University School of Business. She developed the widely adopted Big Three financial literacy questions, now a standard assessment tool used internationally, and co-authored reports for the National Bureau of Economic Research on financial illiteracy across generations.
