Anna Konkle

Anna Konkle is an actress, writer, director, and producer known for her work in television and film. Konkle attended New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, initially focusing on musical theater before transitioning to the Experimental Theater Wing. During her junior year, she participated in an international experimental theater program in Amsterdam, where she met Maya Erskine, who would later become her collaborator on the television series "PEN15."

Konkle began her career with roles in television series such as "New Girl," "Shameless," and "Ramy." She was a main cast member on "Rosewood" as Tara Milly Izikoff and had a recurring role in the final season of FX's "Baskets." These early roles showcased her comedic abilities and set the stage for her later achievements in television writing and production.

Konkle co-created the Hulu original comedy series "PEN15" with Maya Erskine and Sam Zvibleman. In the series, Konkle and Erskine portray 13-year-old versions of themselves, exploring the realities of adolescence. "PEN15" received critical acclaim, earning the Gotham Award for Breakthrough Series and nominations for a Primetime Emmy, two Writers Guild of America Awards, and a Critics Choice Award. Konkle received two Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series and Outstanding Comedy Series. She also made her directorial debut during the show's second season. The series is noted for its candid depiction of mental health, with one episode inspired by Konkle's personal experiences.

In addition to "PEN15," Konkle has appeared in film and television projects including the Hulu dark comedy "The Drop," where she played Lex, and the Apple TV+ comedy series "The Afterparty." She has also appeared in Apple's "Murderbot." Konkle authored the memoir "The Sane One," published by Random House, which details her upbringing in a nontraditional household and her experiences with family, mental health, and reconciliation.
