Coulter earned a bachelor's degree from Cornell University and a law degree from the University of Michigan, where she served as an editor of the Michigan Law Review. After law school, she clerked for Judge Pasco Bowman II of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, worked for the Senate Judiciary Committee, and served as a litigator with the Center for Individual Rights, a public interest law firm.
