Larissa de Macedo Machado, known professionally as Anitta, is a Brazilian singer-songwriter, dancer, actress, and entrepreneur from Rio de Janeiro. Anitta is recognized for her contributions to global pop music, Latin music, and Brazilian funk, blending genres such as pop, funk, reggaeton, and electronic music. She began her career at age 8, singing in a church choir in Rio de Janeiro, and was raised in the Honório Gurgel favela, a region with a low human development index in the Rio de Janeiro metropolitan area. Her background has become a defining aspect of her public identity.

Anitta, a natural alto, gained national attention with her debut single, "Meiga e Abusada," which led to a contract with Warner Music Brazil.
