Angela Giarratana

Angela Giarratana is an actress, comedian, writer, television host, and podcast host based in Los Angeles. A graduate of the UCLA School of Theatre, Film and Television, Giarratana has trained at The Upright Citizens Brigade, The Groundlings, and Second City. She has also written scholarly journals on Shakespeare's works and studied at the British American Drama Academy in England during a summer program at Oxford. This comprehensive training supports her career in sketch comedy, musical theater, film, and podcasting.

Giarratana is recognized for her work with musical theater company StarKid Productions and the YouTube comedy collective Smosh. She first appeared with Team StarKid in the musical "Black Friday," playing the Toy Zone worker Lex Foster. Giarratana reprised the role of Lex in "Nightmare Time" seasons one and two, and originated the role of Grace Chasity in "Nerdy Prudes Must Die" and "Nightmare Time" season two. She also played the Stepmother in the StarKid Productions musical "Cinderella's Castle."

Giarratana joined Smosh as a sketch writer before becoming a cast member. She hosted "Bit City," a Smosh main channel variety series blending sketch and live comedy, and appeared on Smosh Games' "Sword AF," a Dungeons & Dragons actual play show. Giarratana has also appeared on Dropout TV programs, including "Make Some Noise," "Game Changer," and "Very Important People."

Her screen credits include the Starz series "Minx" and the short film "GUTS," which she co-produced and acted in. "GUTS" explores disordered eating and was screened at the Sundance Film Festival. Giarratana also appeared in the short film "Balloon Animals," which was screened at Sundance. Her television debut was in the sitcom "2 Broke Girls," and she has since appeared in series including Nickelodeon's "Danger Force" and "Call Your Mother," as well as the ABC Discovers: Los Angeles Talent Showcase.

Giarratana is a co-host of the improv comedy podcast "Artists on Artists on Artists on Artists." She has visited university campuses to discuss her career and comedy, and has spoken openly about mental health issues, including depression and mood swings. Giarratana's work spans digital media, stage, film, and television, establishing her as a versatile comedic voice in the entertainment industry.
