Andy Roddick Biography
Andy Roddick is a former professional tennis player widely regarded as one of the most accomplished competitors of his generation. He was the world No. 1 and captured the 2003 US Open title, becoming the last American man to win a Grand Slam singles championship. Over his 13-season career, Roddick reached four major finals, won 32 ATP Tour singles titles, and finished in the year-end top 10 for nine consecutive seasons, also helping lead the United States to the 2007 Davis Cup title. He was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2017.
Known for his powerful serve and competitive fire, Roddick was a three-time Wimbledon finalist and a fixture at the top of the men’s game throughout the 2000s, engaging in one of tennis’s most memorable rivalries with Roger Federer. He retired from professional play in 2012 and transitioned into media and broadcasting, including past analyst roles and hosting his popular "Served" podcast.
In 2026, Roddick signed a multi-year deal with ESPN to serve as a commentator and studio analyst for its coverage of Wimbledon and the US Open, bringing his on-court insight and charismatic perspective to some of the sport’s biggest stages for television audiences.
