Andy Habermacher

Andy Habermacher is recognized in Europe for his expertise in neuroleadership, focusing on the application of brain science to leadership and organizational performance. With more than two decades of experience in corporate education and leadership development, Habermacher works with senior executives at major multinational companies, translating neuroscientific research into practical strategies for business. His interest in the field began after an encounter with a Harvard neuroscientist during an executive coaching course in the United States, which led to a sustained focus on the brain's role in human behavior and decision-making.

Habermacher started his professional career in linguistics and language training before founding a company specializing in communication and soft skills for executives. He earned a Certified Master Coach qualification and expanded his expertise through studies in neuroscience as applied to coaching with Dr. Srinivasan Pillay and NeuroBusiness Group. This foundation led to co-authoring the book "Neuroleadership: A Journey Through the Brain for Business Leaders," published by Springer, which examines how understanding the brain's needs and neural networks can influence leadership practice. Habermacher also authored "The Fox Factor," later expanded as "The Dr. Fox Effect: Image Over Content," exploring how status, image, and personality influence people over rational content.

Central to Habermacher's research is the SCOAP framework, a neuropsychological model of human emotional needs and drives—Self-Esteem, Control, Orientation, Attachment, and Pleasure. Developed with academic collaborators, SCOAP synthesizes research on human motivation, behavior, and well-being, and has been applied in global business and education projects. Habermacher also co-developed the SCOAP Coach Theory, an integrated coaching model grounded in neuroscience and evidence-based coaching research, and serves as lead facilitator for SCOAP Coach Certification programs worldwide. His academic work covers decision-making, unconscious bias, happiness, and rationality, and he has presented research at international coaching psychology conferences.

As founder of Leading Brains, Habermacher advances the field through research, publishing, and the Leading Brains Review, a platform sharing cognitive science findings with business and leadership audiences. He also leads a non-profit organization focused on expanding knowledge of the brain to broader communities and translating neuroscience research into societal impact.
