Andy Crouch

Andy Crouch is a partner for theology and culture at Praxis, a venture-building ecosystem focused on redemptive entrepreneurship. His work examines the intersection of Christian theology, contemporary culture, technology, power, leadership, and the arts. Crouch also serves as a teaching fellow for Practicing the Way. He studied classics at Cornell University and earned an M.Div. from Boston University School of Theology.

Crouch is the author of five books, including "The Life We're Looking For: Reclaiming Relationship in a Technological World," "The Tech-Wise Family: Everyday Steps for Putting Technology in Its Proper Place," "Strong and Weak: Embracing a Life of Love, Risk and True Flourishing," "Playing God: Redeeming the Gift of Power," and "Culture Making: Recovering Our Creative Calling." "Culture Making" received a Christianity Today Book Award and was recognized by Publishers Weekly. His writing has appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Time, Best Christian Writing, and Best Spiritual Writing.

Before joining Praxis, Crouch worked in Christian media and ministry, including more than ten years as an editor and producer at Christianity Today, where he served as executive editor. He was editor-in-chief of Regeneration Quarterly, a magazine for culturally creative Christians, and spent ten years as a campus minister with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at Harvard University. He serves on the governing boards of Fuller Theological Seminary, the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities, and InterVarsity Christian Fellowship.

Crouch's books address questions of modern life, exploring topics such as the ethics of technology, the theology of power, and the Christian calling to create culture. In "Playing God," he examines the dynamics of power in relationships and institutions. In "The Life We're Looking For," he discusses the challenges of human flourishing in a technology-driven world and explores ways to restore community and prioritize people in environments shaped by money, power, and devices.

A classically trained musician, Crouch has led musical worship for congregations of various sizes, drawing on pop, folk, rock, jazz, and gospel traditions. His expertise spans technology ethics, Christian leadership, and cultural engagement, making his insights relevant to audiences across faith traditions and professional sectors.
