Andrew Kakabadse

Andrew Kakabadse was recognized as an authority on corporate governance, boardroom effectiveness, and strategic leadership. He served as Professor of Governance and Leadership at Henley Business School, University of Reading, and as Emeritus Professor at Cranfield University School of Management. Kakabadse was ranked among the most influential management thinkers by Harvard Business Review and consulted for governments and multinational organizations throughout his career. At Henley Business School, he directed The Board Directors' Programme and chaired the Henley Directors' Forum.

Kakabadse advised governments internationally and led studies involving more than 20,000 organizations. His research on boardroom effectiveness and governance practice contributed to comprehensive analyses of the British Government and similar investigations in the sports, charity, university, and health sectors. He received a research grant to examine governance and leadership in the private sector and with governments, with participation from several government bodies, including British Ministers of State.

He published over 270 scholarly articles and 48 books, with bestsellers including "The Politics of Management," "Working in Organisations," "The Success Formula," and "Leadership Intelligence: The 5 Qs." Other notable works include "Bilderberg People," "Leading Smart Transformation," and "Rice Wine with the Minister." Kakabadse served as co-editor of Journal of Management Development and Corporate Governance: The International Journal of Business in Society, and as an editorial board member for Journal of Managerial Psychology and Leadership and Organisation Development Journal.

Kakabadse was a Fellow of the International Academy of Management and Economics, the British Psychological Society, and the British Academy of Management. He served as European Vice-Chancellor of the International Academy of Management and as Chair of the British Psychological Society's Division of Occupational Psychology. He was listed in Thinkers50, a ranking of the world's top business thinkers. Kakabadse was frequently featured in media outlets such as The Times and Time magazine and spoke at major conferences. He also served on the advisory board of the Institute of Directors' Centre for Corporate Governance.

Kakabadse's expertise included improving board and executive team performance, leadership, corporate governance, conflict resolution, international relations, consultancy, and policy delivery through agile government. His work contributed to the fields of management, leadership development, and governance.
