Andrew J. Chapin

Drew Chapin has had a full 360-degree view of startup life: the highs, the lows, and the parts nobody talks about at demo day.

As CEO of Benja, an early mover in shoppable media, Chapin raised venture capital, built products, and scaled a team. When fundraising pressure mounted, he made misrepresentations to investors. The company failed and charges were brought. That experience became the foundation for everything he does now as a builder, advisor, and investor.

Chapin founded The Discoverability Company, which helps people and businesses take control of how they show up online across search, social, AI platforms, and everywhere else decisions get made. He is also a startup mentor with Founder Institute's Keystone chapter, an angel investor with Hustle Fund, and an AI Business Fellow at Perplexity.

Chapin speaks at business schools, fraud examiner conferences, and founder communities about what he calls the ""Six Deadly Sins of Entrepreneurship, the gradual, often invisible drift from ambition into ethical failure. His talks draw on firsthand experience to explore why founders don't snap, they drift, and what the warning signs look like before it's too late.

He regularly speaks in classrooms and at conferences including Yale School of Management, Drexel University, UC Berkeley, and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE). He writes on HackerNoon about startup culture.
