Amir Efrati is the Co-Founder and Executive Editor of The Information, a subscription-based technology publication he helped launch in 2013. He has received multiple Best in Business awards from the Society for Advancing Business Editing and Writing (SABEW) for his investigative reporting on corporate missteps at companies like Uber, as well as on the self-driving vehicle efforts of Tesla, Waymo, and Cruise.
Before founding The Information, Efrati spent nine years at The Wall Street Journal, where he covered topics ranging from technology and health to criminal justice. He was the first to report on Bernie Madoff’s arrest and broke several major stories related to high-profile fraud cases. His work on criminal sentencing has been cited by federal judges.
Efrati’s reporting has appeared on CNBC, PBS, BBC, Fox, and NPR. A native of Iowa, he is a graduate of the University of Iowa.
