Amerie -- born Amerie Mi Marie Rogers -- is a singer-songwriter, actress, and author whose soulful blend of R&B, pop, hip-hop, funk, and go‑go rhythms first captured attention with her 2002 debut album All I Have. Drawing acclaim and gold certification, it featured the laid‑back hits “Why Don’t We Fall in Love” and “Talkin’ to Me." Her 2005 sophomore release, Touch, delivered her signature smash “1 Thing,” a go‑go–infused anthem that cracked the Top 10 and earned two Grammy nominations.
