Amanda Peterson Corio

Amanda Peterson Corio serves as Global Head of Data Center Energy at Google, where she manages power procurement, energy policy, and energy infrastructure development for Google's global data centers. With more than 20 years of experience in energy, power, and infrastructure across domestic and international markets, Peterson Corio has played a significant role in shaping how major technology companies pursue sustainable and responsible energy strategies.

Peterson Corio began her career at General Electric Energy Financial Services, managing power project finance. She later placed over $140 million in solar tax equity investments at Chevron Energy Solutions and developed utility-scale solar projects at Agile Energy. Before joining Google, she was director of investment structuring at Macquarie Infrastructure Company's Renewable Energy subsidiary, overseeing the sourcing, diligence, and structuring of utility and distributed renewable energy projects. She holds an MBA from The Wharton School of Business and a BA in business administration with honors from Boston University School of Management.

At Google, Peterson Corio has led major clean energy initiatives, including the development and execution of Google's 24/7 Carbon Free Energy program. She has secured more than 7 gigawatts of renewable energy globally, supporting Google's commitment to 100 percent renewable energy annually. In a single year, Google signed agreements for over 12 gigawatts of new clean energy, marking the largest annual total in the company's history. Over her tenure, Peterson Corio has driven landmark energy transactions and contributed to the development of industry standards for responsible energy growth, supporting a more affordable, reliable, and clean energy system worldwide.

Peterson Corio advocates for innovative approaches to grid modernization and energy infrastructure. She has promoted the concept that the scale of artificial intelligence offers opportunities to rethink data center development by co-locating them with grid-connected carbon-free energy sources. Under her leadership, Google signed the first corporate agreement to purchase nuclear energy from multiple small modular reactors to be developed by Kairos Power. Google has added more than 22 gigawatts of new energy to global grids, equivalent to powering 4.7 million American homes per year.

A frequent speaker at industry forums such as the NY Bloomberg NEF Summit, the Milken Institute Global Conference, CERAWeek, and Alphabet's Data Center Energy Strategy investor call, Peterson Corio has articulated Google's strategic evolution from a power customer to an infrastructure partner.
