A classically trained actor and singer, Alyah Chanelle Scott cut her teeth in the theater before gaining widespread recognition as Whitney Chase in Mindy Kaling's HBO MAX series, "The Sex Lives of College Girls." She is also the executive producer of the three-time Tony Award-winning theater company Runyonland Productions, which won its latest Tony for Best Play Revival for "Appropriate" in 2024. She is a 2024 Forbes 30 Under 30 recipient.
Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Scott studied at the University of Michigan’s School of Music, Theatre & Dance, where she earned a BFA in musical theater. Her passion and dedication to the arts soon led to notable roles, including playing Nabulungi in the Broadway tour of "The Book of Mormon." Scott has also directed two music videos for her "Sex Lives" co-star Reneé Rapp: “Snow Angel” and “Talk Too Much.”
