Allie Fleder

Allie Fleder is a technology executive and entrepreneur recognized as the co-founder and chief operating officer of SimplyWise, a New York City-based fintech company. SimplyWise develops artificial intelligence-powered applications designed to automate administrative tasks for small business owners, with a focus on providing tools that offer the same operational leverage as those available to large enterprises. The company, co-founded with Rahul Mehta and Sam Abbas, has secured more than $21 million in equity funding. Unlike many digital financial services platforms that target millennials and Gen Z, SimplyWise serves Americans over 50, a tech-savvy and growing demographic with significant wealth.

Fleder’s career trajectory includes experience in Latin American poetry, political speechwriting, and a chief of staff role that encompassed accounting, human resources, recruiting, legal, customer support, and product management. She began her professional journey at Americas Society/Council of the Americas, serving as chief of staff to the president. In that capacity, she collaborated with entrepreneurs and technology companies to expand their operations in Latin America and became a founding member and executive director of Young Professionals of the Americas. Prior to SimplyWise, Fleder founded and led Sherpa, a British luggage delivery platform for travelers, which was acquired. She also consulted for venture-backed fintech and travel technology startups in London and New York.

As chief operating officer, Fleder manages a broad range of responsibilities, including customer support, engineering collaboration, and growth strategy across performance and viral marketing channels. Her leadership approach emphasizes user engagement, with a focus on listening to customers and building products that address their needs. This user-centric strategy has contributed to SimplyWise’s growth in the fintech sector, particularly among underserved markets.

Fleder is also known for her advocacy of LGBTQ+ inclusion in business. She has spoken publicly about her experiences coming out in the workplace and is an advocate for empowering the LGBTQ+ community. Fleder serves as a board member and former chair of EUROUT, Europe’s largest LGBT+ business conference, and is a member of the Digital Corps leadership committee at Out in Tech. She has been recognized by WERKIN for her contributions as an LGBTQ+ founder in technology and business.

Fleder holds a degree from Columbia College and an MBA from London Business School, where she was a 50th Anniversary Scholar. Her academic background and experience in male-dominated industries inform her advocacy for female founders. She frequently addresses the challenges women face in entrepreneurship and venture funding, and she supports inclusive leadership through mentorship, community building, and public speaking on topics including entrepreneurship, fintech, and diversity in technology.
