Alison Leiby

Alison Leiby is a stand-up comedian and writer known for her confessional comedic style and contributions to television, podcasting, and publishing. Leiby has served as a staff writer for television series including "Broad City" and "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel." Her additional television credits include Comedy Central's "The President Show," "The Opposition with Jordan Klepper," Hulu's "Triumph Election Special," and Adult Swim's animated series "Teenage Euthanasia." She has also worked as a writer and executive producer for Ilana Glazer's "Comedy on Earth" for Comedy Central.

A two-time Writers Guild of America Award–nominated writer, Leiby has contributed to television, stage, and print. She has worked as a producer on Hulu's "Life & Beth," co-producer on Amazon's "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel," and executive producer for Ilana Glazer's Amazon stand-up special "The Planet Is Burning." Her writing has appeared in The New York Times, New York magazine, McSweeney's, Vice, The Onion, Cosmopolitan, and Marie Claire. Leiby has received Writers Guild of America Award nominations for both Comedy/Variety Sketch Series and Comedy Series.

Leiby is also known for her one-woman show, "Oh God, A Show About Abortion," which premiered Off-Broadway at the Cherry Lane Theatre in New York. The solo show was named Best Political Comedy of the year by The New York Times and received critical acclaim for its exploration of identity and womanhood. The show was later performed at the Kennedy Center. Leiby was recognized as one of New York Jewish Week's 36 to Watch.

Leiby co-hosts the horror film review comedy podcast "Ruined" with Halle Kiefer. The podcast has been named one of Time magazine's top ten podcasts of the year. In addition to her podcast and television work, Leiby has published a memoir-in-essays titled "I'm a Lot: Surviving Myself and All the People I've Been," which explores themes of identity, womanhood, and self-acceptance. The book opens with an account of a complication from back surgery that Leiby experienced at age 19 and uses that event as a foundation for reflections on personal growth. Vulture has named her one of the Comedians You Should and Will Know, highlighting her presence in contemporary comedy.
